How Tuggs leads the way on making fresh dog food more sustainable

Updated over a week ago

Sustainability is at the heart of our brand which is why we are pioneering the use of insect protein in fresh dog food. Pet food constitutes 25โ€“30% of the environmental impacts from animal production in terms of the use of land, water, fossil fuel, phosphate, and biocides in the US alone. As such, we use insects which have a fraction of the carbon pawprint of other proteins to reduce our reliance on livestock and make our product more sustainable.

Our Packaging

We have chosen our packaging with sustainability in mind. Our boxes and inserts are crafted from recycled material, suitable for recycling in household bins.

Presently, our pouches are not recyclable due to our cooking method. However, we're actively seeking recyclable alternatives.

Our insulation is sourced from Puffin Packaging, a B Corp company. We've initiated a returns scheme for our insulation, allowing customers to return it for free to be reused again and promoting the circular economy.
