What to do if you've run out of Tuggs pouches

Advice for if you find yourself without our food

We recommend keeping a few pouches spare in the freezer for emergencies. These meals remain fresh for up to a year when unopened in the freezer. Simply transfer them to the fridge to defrost as needed.

If you still have some Tuggs pet food pouches left, you can extend their usage by supplementing them with additional ingredients. Consider adding dog-safe vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, or sweet potatoes. You can also include a protein source like cooked chicken, turkey, or lean beef, as well as plain cooked rice if your pet does not have grain allergies.

In the interim, if you're completely out of Tuggs, consider cooking for your pooch at home.

To prepare meals without Tuggs pouches, use a combination of cooked dog-safe vegetables like broccoli, sweet potatoes, or carrots, a protein source such as chicken, turkey, or lean beef, and optionally plain cooked rice. Ensure the food is free from harmful ingredients like garlic, onions, or excessive salts and spices.

Always consult your veterinarian when introducing new ingredients into your pet’s diet and avoid using any seasonings or ingredients that are toxic to dogs, such as garlic, onions, or spices.

*Note: These meals lack the vitamins and minerals found in Tuggs, so they're best used as a temporary alternative! Additionally, always ensure that meals are nutritionally balanced and free from any harmful additives. If unsure, seek a veterinarian's advice before continuing homemade alternatives.
